Growing attendance at WordPress Nashville MeetUps and WordCamp Nashville show the appetite for WordPress knowledge here is huge. That’s why we will host our first WordPress Help Desk MeetUp on August 19.
For two hours, MeetUp members will offer one-on-one help at several individual tables set up by topic. We’ll also have a group session available taking general questions and demonstrating WordPress from a “how-to” approach.
The Help Desk, like all our MeetUps, is free. We ask that those planning to attend identify the area that is their priority for help. This allows us to identify the best helpers, set up the right “stations” and serve as many people as possible.
Help Desk stations can include backup and security, admin panel basics (installing and getting started), adding content (pages and posts), email signup and social sharing plugins, and other options.
We’ll ask those who sign up through MeetUp to list one or two needs or questions. At the event, dispatchers will use those questions to direct people to the right station. We’ll also set time limits for each one-on-one session, though it is possible to get help at more than one station and folks can come and go to the general session as they please.
This is a grand experiment, and we are excited about it. We hope to offer similar future Help Desk events and ask for tolerance, helpful feedback and a good measure of patience.
Nashville is stocked with talented WordPress users, designers and developers and sharing the WP love is part of the deal. We look forward to seeing you in Berry Hill on August 19th.
